Philco Electric Heat Strips
This category contains Philco heat strips to fit Philco air handlers, packaged air conditioners, and packaged heat pumps. An electric heat strip is the primary source of heat for a straight cool air conditioner system. In a heat pump system, the electric heat strip is used as both an auxiliary heater to help the heat pump when temperatures drop below it's efficiency level, and as a back-up heater in case the heat pump fails. Consult a licensed electrician if in doubt about what size heater you should install.
